LAPL
If you just want to fly for fun, the Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) is designed for you.
Once you have your LAPL with North East Aviation Training you’ll be able to fly family and friends for a day out or simply enjoy the stunning Northumberland landscape.
With your LAPL you can act as Pilot in Command (PIC) on a single engine piston aircraft with a maximum certificated take-off mass of 2000kg or less, carrying a maximum of three passengers (four including you as the pilot). But you can only take your passengers on a LAPL once you’ve completed 10 hours of flight time as PIC.
Training requirements
You’ll need to have completed at least 30 hours of flight training on aeroplanes including 15 hours of dual flight instruction in the class in which the skill test will be taken.
And you’ll need six hours of supervised solo flight time, including at least three hours of solo cross country navigation flight time with at least one
cross-country flight.
You’ll also need to complete nine exams:
