Former Royal Air Force Spitfire training base in the heart of Northumberland from 1939 - 1942
Eshott Airfield is one of the largest recreational GA flying sites in the North of the UK. We're a friendly airfield bustling with activity with a huge range of flying activities that take place here.
Whether you're looking to purchase a flying gift for someone, book your first flying lesson or read up on our procedures before visiting by air, you'll find everything you need here.
Eshott Airfield is a bustling environment throughout the day. You'll arrive to the reception at your chosen flight time and will meet your pilot. You can bring family members who can use our clubhouse or sit outside on the benches an overlooking the airfield runway.
On the ground we'll talk through the aircraft you've chosen to fly and what you'd like to do with your time in the air. You can discuss the route you'd like to take and we'll talk you through the landmarks you're likely to see on your trip.
We're incredibly lucky to have our base at Eshott Airfield in Northumberland. On every flight you'll get to see the stunning coastline, castles and scenery that this wonderful county has to offer.
By far our most popular experiences are for 60 minutes in the sky. Apart from the seals on the beach at Holy Island you can expect to see;
Alnwick Castle, Brunton Airfield, Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Seahouses, Beadnell Bay, Dunstanburgh Castle, Warkworth Castle, Alnmouth, Amble & Druridge Bay.
