Chipmunk WG458 to join Hangar57

We’re incredibly excited to announce the purchase of ex RAF Chipmunk WG458 which is arriving by road at its new home Eshott Airfield this evening.

This iconic machine shaped the dreams and memories of so many people through its role as the RAFs primary training aircraft - many Air Cadets, UAS students and RAF pilots had their first flight in a Chipmunk.

WG458 was used by the RAF from 1951 until it retired from Exeter AEF in 1995 after 11,000 hours of training. She will now undergo restoration before taking to the skies once again!
